User Experience Designer

You will be working for ambitious leading global companies to entrepreneurial start ups in technology, retail, finance, travel, publishing, public sector and more.

You will

/ Create differentiating and future thinking user interface designs and interactive prototypes across multiple digital touch points – including web, tablet, mobile, app, interactive devices

/ Collaborate closely with Information Architects and Experience Designers on solving design challenges and also be able to translate conceptual thinking into user friendly wireframes and user journeys for selected projects

/ Create word class interface designs with deep focus on balancing people needs, business drivers and technical possibilities  

/ Participate in internal UX ideation sessions and co-creative client workshops

/ Collaborate with the team on crafting presentations for pitches, events and workshops. Motion graphics to facilitate storytelling a real bonus 

/ Be responsible for keeping abreast with latest industry developments, technical innovation and digital best practise that deliver ground breaking concepts

/Contribute to the Experience Design knowledge base and actively share knowledge and expertise

 

Your research and design skills

/ Understand and translate market context, user research, business needs and technology opportunities into delightful and differentiating interface designs and holistic systems that effectively communicate the experience

/ Ability to create visual language concepts, mood definition, behaviors, early design routes and presentation materials that articulate strategic design intent

/ Ability to establish new interactive visual design languages or interpret, translate and extend existing paradigms

/ Creation of interactive prototypes demonstrating interactive ideas and to test usability

/ An understanding of lean design processes a plus

/ Experience and creation of iterative prototyping as an essential part of the design process and user testing validation

You have

/ 5+ years interaction design experience

/ Ahead of the curve – you know what’s coming next and why it’s important

/ Grounded – you also know what’s relevant to people, business and technology

/ Visionary – you want to continually set new benchmarks

/ A strong portfolio that demonstrates your interaction design thinking and core craft skills across a variety of client sectors and platforms, i.e. digital interface design for products, websites, mobile, tablet, interactive devices

/ Degree in Multimedia Design, Interaction Design, Information Design, Communication Design, Human Computer Interaction or equivalent experience

/ Passion for problem solving, user centered design, interactive and responsive design principles, technology and meticulous attention to detail

/ Eloquent verbal/written communication & presentation skills, with the ability to successfully articulate design concepts to your team and your client

/ An enthusiastic and hands on team player that builds and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, partners and clients

/ A strong work ethic and a passion for drawing out and driving creativity and innovation

/ Highly competent with Adobe Creative Suite. Adobe After Effects / motion graphics / prototyping tool experience a plus

/ Fluent in English, both verbal and written.

/ With a focus on user research, information architecture, wireframes and prototyping, you’ll be solving complex design challenges across the digital service experience to create and lead feasible, desirable and smart user experiences across platforms.

/ Generate transformational value through design by looking at the whole service to unearth people, market, and technology insights to create digital experiences that mix hard commercial reality, people-focused insights and technical opportunities

/ Engage clients at the highest level

You have

/ 6-10 years prior work in agencies (we are not looking for sole corporate background)

/ A strong user experience portfolio that demonstrates your strategic thinking, user experience methodologies and resulting solutions across sectors and interactive platforms

/ Solid academic background in a related field, such as information science, interaction design, digital communication or similar or commensurate work experience from agency’s; advanced degree a plus

/ Eloquent verbal/written communication & presentation skills, with the ability to successfully articulate design strategy and concepts to your team and your client

/ Fluency with common design and prototyping software (Axure, Sketch, Illustrator, Keynote, Microsoft etc )

 

Your Strategy, Research, design and technical skills

/ Utilising UX and Experience Design methodologies to gain a deep understanding of people’s desires, business goals and service performance to unearth unmet needs and innovation opportunities

/ Experience assessment, research, planning and facilitating experience design workshops, conduct user research, usability testing, customer journey mapping, business process mapping, trend, market and technology analysis and content audits

/ Create user experience goals and conceptual frameworks; user personas, related key user journeys and relevant flowcharts

/ Translate qualitative and quantitative insights into innovative experience solutions, exhibited in user scenarios, lo-fi to hi-fi Information Architecture and wireframes, interactive prototypes and functional annotations/specification documentation

/ Able to work systematically with complex business processes and align them with strategic direction, client’s business objectives whilst meeting the user experience objectives of the project

/ Inspire innovative approaches to design, using creative facilitation techniques with clients and internal workshops

/ Strong ability to think technically and collaborate seamlessly with technologists to consider the benefits, possibilities and constraints of common coding languages and platforms

/ Responsible for keeping abreast with latest industry developments, technical innovation and digital best practise that deliver ground breaking and future proof concepts

/ Capable to present and sell in experience process and solutions internally and externally, from supporting pitches to project presentations

 

Collaboration Skills

/ Collaborate closely with UX and UI designers, technologists, external associates and partners to solve complex challenges holistically and able to manage less experience designers

/ Work in partnership with the Project Manager to support planning, costing to ensure delivery is on time / on budget and potential risks

/ Effective time management skills to balance project schedule with fast-paced deadlines

/ Structured and organised approach to work but with the ability to be flexible with shifting priorities, juggling multiple projects and timelines when necessary, performing other role related duties when required

/ Co-develop long term pro-active relationships with clients

/ Strong influencing, negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal
